I was at a meeting of the Philadelphia SEO group last night at Dave and Busters and a developer named Mike and I struck up a conversation about Web Design and Development and whether Internet Explorer 6 should be supported. IE6 still has a 20%+ chunk of the Internet browser market and if support for it disappears many of those users won’t see quality sites.
Mike was big proponent of developing for the outdated browser, whereas I come from a more case-by-case basis model. I think it all depends on what type of visitor will be viewing the site. You take the lowest denominator and develop for that.
All-in-all hopefully IE6 will go by the wayside and Web designers can start developing for more standards driven browsers.
